Welcome to

The GREAT “Heart & Soul” Tailgate

When Walt Disney World Resort and ESPN Regional Television (ERT) present the sixth annual MEAC/SWAC Challenge—pitting Delaware State of the MEAC against Southern University of the SWAC—it will be the first gridiron meeting between these two HBCU schools in 25 years. A match-up this long in the making deserves a special pre-game event. The GREAT “Heart & Soul” Tailgate is such an event.

Running from at 10 a.m. right up to the Noon kickoff on Sunday, Sept. 5 (on ESPN, ESPN HD and ESPN3.com), the GREAT “Heart & Soul” Tailgate is an ideal way to usher in the 2010 college football season. The event will be catered by some of Orlando’s finest soul food establishments, and includes the Collard Green Cook-off, sponsored by Sweet Moses Greens.

In addition to great food, there will be a Tailgate Show, which will be MC’ed by WOKB’s Glenn Allgood and Soul Man Will Spottsville, and include the soul stirring Daytonaires, gospel diva Monique Spivey, as well as winners of the Disney STEP Classic and Drum line competitions. Other acts will be announced later.

Kids are welcome, too, and the GREAT “Heart & Soul” Tailgate will include a children's zone with fun and games to keep the little ones entertained.

ADMISSION IS FREE!

After the game, the tailgate area will reopen and feature CeCe Teneal & Soul Kamotion and neo-soul band Silkee Smoove in an after game party that will last until 7:00 p.m.
