Bethune-Cookman to Let Fans Pick Uniform for MEAC/SWAC Challenge

Fans will be able to select the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats’ full uniform for the season-opening MEAC/SWAC Challenge, an ESPN Events owned and operated opening-weekend football game. The nationally televised event – the annual game that puts the spotlight on Historically Black Colleges and Universities – will mark the debut of Bethune-Cookman’s new Nike apparel. The Wildcats and nine other MEAC schools announced the expansion of their Nike agreement earlier this year.

Fans will be able to select from four different options featuring two different jerseys as well as three distinct helmets and pants. Voting will take place here on the MEAC/SWAC Challenge site until Friday, Aug. 26 at 5 p.m. ET. The options are:

  • Maroon jersey and pants, maroon helmet
  • Maroon jersey, gold pants, gradient helmet
  • Gold jersey and pants, gradient helmet
  • Gold jersey, black pants, black helmet

In addition, two pairs of tickets will be up for grabs among voters. In order to be eligible for the giveaway, fans must vote like the event’s official Facebook page at www.facebook.com/MEACSWACChallenge. On Friday, Aug. 26, the winner will be randomly selected and announced.

The 12th annual Challenge will feature the Wildcats and two-time defending SWAC champion Alcorn State at Daytona Beach Municipal Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 4, and the game will air on ESPN.
